Hozier releases Unheard EP and announces sell-out London show

Hozier, the celebrated Irish singer-songwriter, has delighted fans with the release of a special set of previously unreleased tracks titled Unheard EP, now available for streaming and download. The release coincides with the announcement of his sell-out performance at London’s Finsbury Park, with a capacity of 45,000, scheduled for 7th July 2024. Additional performances are set for Chepstow Racecourse on 9th July and Glasgow Green on 10th July, showcasing the artist’s significant draw and popularity in the UK.

The Unheard EP comprises four songs – Too SweetEmpire NowFare Well and Wildflower and Barley, the latter featuring the talents of Canadian Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter and activist, Allison Russell. These tracks were initially recorded during the sessions for Hozier’s latest chart-topping album, Unreal Unearth, but were not included in the final release for various reasons.

In a statement, Hozier expressed his excitement about the EP: “It’s my pleasure to announce the release of more work from the album sessions which could not make the original release. These are songs that might’ve made it to the circles of gluttony, limbo, violence and the outward ‘ascent’ respectively but could not for different reasons. I’m very glad I’ll get to share them with you.”

Unreal Unearth, Hozier’s third studio album, achieved significant acclaim upon its release last August, marking his first-ever UK number one. The album, praised for its songwriting and world-class tracks such as Eat Your YoungAll Things EndFrancesca and De Selby (Part 2), not only topped charts in the UK and Ireland but also achieved remarkable success internationally, including a number one spot in the Netherlands and top five placements in the USA and Germany.

This summer’s outdoor performances, including the highly anticipated show at Finsbury Park, will be Hozier’s largest headline show in the UK to date. These events follow a successful year on the live circuit for Hozier, highlighted by a surprise set at Glastonbury, a sold-out show at Ally Pally Park, and over a million tickets sold worldwide for his headline tour, which included a performance at London’s OVO Arena Wembley.
