Reid’s Palace in Madeira to host fifth annual Art of Flavours gastronomic festival

Reid’s Palace, A Belmond Hotel in Madeira, is set to host its prestigious fifth annual gastronomic festival, The Art of Flavours, on the 14th and 15th of June 2024. This culinary event, renowned for showcasing award-winning chefs and emerging talents, promises an unforgettable experience against the backdrop of Funchal Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Led by José Diogo Costa, the Creative Executive Chef of Reid’s Palace and the Michelin-starred William Restaurant, this year’s festival will feature a stellar lineup of Michelin-starred chefs and promising culinary names.

The festival will commence with The Stars Dinner on June 14, offering a seven-course menu product of a six-hands collaboration, concluding with a dessert prepared by female Pastry Chef Isabel Nobre of Vila Vita Parc. The dishes will be complemented by a selection of wines from António Maçanita, showcasing the wide and intriguing grape varieties of the Azores. The celebration continues on June 15 with a grand outdoor food party, bringing together nearly 30 Portuguese winemakers and producers for an evening of exquisite tastes and champagne, culminating in handmade desserts and pastries.

Among the participating Michelin-starred chefs are Luke Selby of Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, Alex Tsiotinis of CTC Urban Gastronomy, Octávio Freitas of Restaurante Desarma, Valentino Cassanelli of Lux Lucis, and Vasco Coelho Santos of Euskalduna Studio. The event will also highlight the talents of four rising stars in the culinary world, including Isabel Nobre, João Guedes Ferreira, Marlene Vieira, and Pablo Aranda.

This year’s edition is excited to introduce Quinta Da Moscadinha, a Madeiran cider producer and a guest mixologist from the Three House Club in Funchal. The festival’s mesmerising setting in the hotel’s pool area offers a privileged view over Funchal’s Bay, with live cooking by the chefs to the sound of DJ Donwella.

Reid’s Palace, A Belmond Hotel, is a luxurious cliff-top retreat in Madeira, distinguished for its sublime ocean views, lush subtropical gardens, and exceptional dining experiences. Belmond, known for its collection of unique luxury hotels and travel experiences, continues to offer unparalleled service and culinary excellence, with Reid’s Palace being no exception.
