British musician Jacob Collier has released a new EP titled Three Christmas Songs – An Abbey Road Live-to-Vinyl Cut, featuring live recordings of festive classics. The EP, recorded in Abbey Road’s iconic Studio 2, was produced in a unique session that captured the performances directly onto vinyl in a single take, accompanied by a chorus of fans and friends. This release coincides with a series of upcoming live performances, including shows at Manchester’s AO Arena on 8th December, London’s O2 Arena on 9th December, and a more intimate festive solo show at London’s Union Chapel on 12th December.

The live-to-vinyl recording session was also filmed, providing fans with an insight into the production process and the atmosphere during the recording. Collier, a six-time GRAMMY winner, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “As somebody with a deep love for Christmas, it was a proper joy to have this opportunity to record three of my favourite festive songs live-to-vinyl, in Abbey Road’s iconic Studio 2. A last-minute call-out to friends and fans resulted in a gathering of people from many walks of life, befriending one another and singing together, for a one-take festive experience. It was our first take – recorded in continuum, with no pauses – what you can hear on the record is exactly as it came out. My hope is that it sparks some joy, and conjures some Christmas spirit at its gentlest, most communal, and most twinkling.”

The EP features three tracks: I’ll Be Home For ChristmasWinter Wonderland and Silent Night. These selections add to the festive spirit of the season and showcase Collier’s innovative approach to music production.

The release follows a successful year for Collier, who recently received his second consecutive Album of the Year GRAMMY nomination for his album Djesse – Volume 4. This latest nomination adds to his impressive tally, making him a 15-time GRAMMY nominee. Djesse – Volume 4 is part of a four-album series that has seen collaborations with a wide range of artists across various genres, underscoring Collier’s versatility and broad appeal in the music industry.

Collier’s 2023 tour has been a significant success, with over 200,000 tickets sold. The tour included sold-out performances at major venues such as Radio City Music Hall and The Greek Theater. Following his December shows in the UK, Collier will continue to perform internationally, with scheduled concerts in several European cities, including a sold-out show in Paris and multiple dates in Amsterdam.
