Everyone Says Hi releases new single Lucky Stars ahead of debut album, featuring former Kaiser Chiefs’ Nick Hodgson

British band Everyone Says Hi has released a new single titled Lucky Stars, which precedes their debut album scheduled for release on 31st January 2025. The group, led by former Kaiser Chiefs songwriter and drummer Nick Hodgson, has already garnered attention with this track during their recent UK headline tour.

Lucky Stars is noted for its anthemic choruses and beautiful string sections, making it a standout track from the upcoming album. Hodgson, who has transitioned from drummer to lead singer and guitarist, shared his thoughts on the song’s origins: “I’ve written a lot of my favourite songs in my old flat in Leeds. There’s definitely something special about the place for me. I decided to stay there for a few days and write. This song and Brain Freeze came out. Lucky Stars is a love song pure and simple!”

The band consists of Hodgson, Pete Denton on bass, Glenn Moule on drums, keyboard player Ben Gordon and Leeds-based guitarist Tom Dawson. This ensemble of musicians, each with a rich background in various successful bands, brings a wealth of experience to Everyone Says Hi.

In support of the album, Everyone Says Hi will go on tour, making stops at several independent venues and record stores across the UK. The tour includes performances in cities such as London, Portsmouth, Marlborough, Bristol, Kingston, Nottingham, Leeds and Liverpool, starting from 27th January during Independent Venue Week.

Everyone Says Hi’s path began with their debut single Brain Freeze in April last year, followed by a series of successful releases and live performances. The band’s name, inspired by a David Bowie song, hints at the nostalgic yet fresh approach they are taking with their music. The forthcoming album, produced by Hodgson in London’s Snap Studios and at his home studio, promises a collection of emotionally driven, arena-ready tracks.

Hodgson, known for his songwriting prowess and collaborations with high-profile artists like Dua Lipa, George Ezra and Mark Ronson, has started this new project with a focus on returning to the basics of band dynamics and live performances. With a history of over five million cumulative album sales globally, Hodgson’s latest venture with Everyone Says Hi is a testament to his enduring talent and passion for music.
