Rosewood London has launched its Monet Art Afternoon Tea, inspired by the works of French Impressionist painter Claude Monet. The new offering, curated by Executive Pastry Chef Mark Perkins, will be available daily in the hotel’s Mirror Room, coinciding with the centenary of Monet’s death. The experience is designed to pay tribute to Monet’s enduring legacy through a menu that draws on the artist’s iconic garden at Giverny, his celebrated Water Lilies series, and his distinctive approach to light, colour, and texture.

The menu begins with a selection of savoury items, including a baked Camembert Custard Tart, Lobster and Prawn Profiterole, Roast Chicken with tarragon-infused mayonnaise in an onion seed bun, Egg and Mayonnaise with King’s Imperial Caviar on Brioche, and Cured Salmon with Crème Fraîche, Cucumber Ribbon, and Trout Roe. The second course features a Jasmine Tea Cream layered with strawberries and strawberry jelly, accompanied by Lemon and Vanilla Madeleines.

The highlight of the experience is a trio of signature art cakes inspired by Monet’s famous paintings. These include a Pistachio and Cherry Blossom Cake referencing Water Lily Pond (1899), a Peach Melba Cake inspired by Impression, Sunrise (1872), and an Apricot and Rosemary Cake reflecting Woman with a Parasol (1875). Each cake is crafted to evoke the visual and sensory qualities of Monet’s works.

Guests can choose from a selection of premium teas, curated to echo the floral and botanical notes of Monet’s garden, or opt for a champagne pairing. The traditional Art Afternoon Tea is priced at £80 per person, while the Champagne Art Afternoon Tea is available for £108.

The Monet Art Afternoon Tea forms the latest iteration of Rosewood London’s ongoing Art Afternoon Tea series, which seeks to reinterpret artistic movements and figures through food. Chef Perkins said, “Our Art Afternoon Tea at Rosewood London has always been about storytelling through flavour and design. With the Monet Art Afternoon Tea, we wanted to capture the romance, delicacy and artistry of Monet’s world – from the blossoms of Giverny to the soft reflections of his Water Lilies, and translate that into a culinary experience.”

Located at 252 High Holborn in a Grade II-listed building, Rosewood London is characterised by a blend of historic architecture and contemporary design, from the thoughtfully curated 264 rooms and 44 suites, to the three restaurants and bars, and the Sense Spa treatments.
