The Salt Path premiere: On the red carpet with the cast and creatives

Based on the best-selling true-life memoir by Raynor Winn, The Salt Path is a story of love, endurance and the fragility of humanity. With a screenplay adapted by Rebecca Lenkieiwcz and stunning cinematography from Hélène Louvart, the film takes viewers on a journey of resilience and profound connections with nature.

When Raynor (Gillian Anderson) and her husband Moth (Jason Issacs) face eviction from their home and a diagnosis of a terminal illness for Moth, their choice to walk the 630 mile South West Coast Path armed with a tent, sleeping bags and packets of instant noodles gives them both a sense of purpose against a future of uncertainty. Directed by Marianne Elliot, the rugged coastline and stillness of nature provide the backdrop to a raw portrayal of this precarious moment in their lives.

The Upcoming had the pleasure of speaking to Raynor Winn about having her book brought to life on screen and the cast chosen to play her and her husband, Moth.

Marianne Elliot spoke to us about the collaborative process of directing this film and what she hopes viewers will take away from watching it unfold.

Gillian Anderson and Jason Isaacs talked to us about shaping their characters for an authentic approach, the frailty of humankind and the mystical presence of nature.

We chatted to Rebecca Lenkieiwcz about her adaptation of the memoir and the casting process for this film.

James Lance spoke to us about the impact the feature had on him and the challenges of filming in such changeable weather conditions, as well as working alongside his brilliant co-stars.
