Turin to host Buonissima Summer Edition 2025 as top chefs gather for landmark food festival

Turin will become a focal point for international gastronomy from 17th to 21st June 2025, when the Buonissima Summer Edition brings together over 50 chefs from Italy and around the globe for a plethora of food-focused events. The special edition, taking place across venues in the city, is timed to coincide with the first Italian edition of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants awards, further cementing Turin’s growing reputation as a centre for culinary excellence.
Buonissima, now in its sixth year, was founded by food and wine journalists Stefano Cavallito and Luca Iaccarino, along with chef Matteo Baronetto. Over the years, it has attracted leading figures in the gastronomic world, including Massimo Bottura, Ferran Adrià, Alain Ducasse, Enrico Crippa, Virgilio Martinez and René Redzepi. Organisers describe the Summer Edition as “a prelude – the appetizer, we can say – to the winter edition of Buonissima, which will take place from 22nd to 26th October, involving over 100 chefs from all over the world.”
For the opening event on 17th June, the Vertical Dinner at Flashback Habitat will showcase Italian regional cuisine through a progressive dining experience. Six chefs, including Giuseppe Iannotti (Kresios), Ugo Alciati (Guido Ristorante), Paolo Gori (Trattoria Da Burde) and Luciano Monosilio (Luciano Cucina Italiana), will each present a dish representing their region. The dinner will begin in the garden with contributions from Giuseppe Rambaldi (Cucina Rambaldi) and Massimiliano Prete (Sestogusto).
On 18th June, Degustando Melting Pot will highlight international influences on Italian cuisine, with ten chefs of diverse origins, such as Matias Perdomo (Uruguay), Roy Caceres (Colombia), Giulia Liu (China), Charles Pearce (United Kingdom) and others, serving their interpretations at a communal tasting event.
Throughout the week, pop-up dinners will pair Michelin-starred chefs with local trattorias, including collaborations between Antiche Sere and Le Calandre, and Opera with Paolo Griffa of Caffè Nazionale in Aosta. These events are designed to blend fine dining with traditional local fare.
Piolissima will see 17 of Turin’s traditional piole taverns offering special dinners rooted in Piedmontese cuisine, with a focus on conviviality and local dishes like Acciughe al Bagnet Verde (anchovies in green sauce). Establishments such as Barbagusto, La Fucina Ristorantino, and Cantinone San Paolo are among the participants.
The week concludes with Bistromania at Snodo/OGR on 20th June, a celebration of contemporary Italian bistros featuring venues such as Buatta Cucina Popolare and Contesto Alimentare, with open-air party and after-party planned for the occasion.
