Little Fires bar in Shoreditch to host mezcal tasting masterclass with Los Siete Misterios

This September, recently opened mezcal and hi-fi bar Little Fires, in Shoreditch, will host a one-off tasting masterclass in collaboration with artisanal mezcal producer Los Siete Misterios. Taking place from 6pm to 8pm at the new venue on Bethnal Green Road, the evening will offer attendees an introduction to the traditional Mexican spirit through a guided tasting session led by brand ambassador Gabriela Moncada.

The £25 ticketed event will include a tasting of four mezcal versions, each paired with a complementary Mexican dish prepared by the Little Fires kitchen. The aim is to educate guests about mezcal’s cultural roots and production methods in the freshly updated venue, highlighting the distinct characteristics of each spirit and exploring the variety of flavours on offer. In addition to the tasting, a limited-edition cocktail menu featuring Los Siete Misterios spirits will be available.

Founded in 2010, Los Siete Misterios is a family-run operation based in Mexico that focuses on small-batch production using traditional methods. They have gained recognition for their commitment to preserving artisanal mezcal-making techniques, and Moncada, who will lead the session, is expected to provide insight into the brand’s philosophy and process. Each bottle is crafted from a single variety of agave, allowing for the expression of unique flavour profiles tied to specific plants and regions. For the masterclass, the pairing of spirits with food is designed to enhance the tasting experience and demonstrate the drink’s versatility as both a sipping spirit and a cocktail ingredient. 

Little Fires opened its doors earlier this year and combines a focus on analogue sound systems with a curated drinks menu. The upcoming event marks one of its first forays into educational programming and brand collaborations.
