Maison Pommery to host exclusive champagne tasting at Sycamore in Covent Garden this April

Italian restaurant Sycamore, at Middle Eight in Covent Garden, will host a one-night-only Maison Pommery champagne tasting on Wednesday 8th April from 6 to 8pm. With tickets priced at £50 per person, the evening will offer attendees the opportunity to sample three champagnes from the historic French house

The tasting is designed as a social occasion rather than a formal masterclass, providing Londoners with an alternative to typical drinks-led evenings as the city enters the spring season. Guests will be greeted with a glass of Pommery Louis Sparkling England upon arrival, before being seated for a guided tasting. Over the course of the evening, three champagnes will be poured: Pommery Brut Royal NV, Pommery 1874 Apanage Blanc de Blancs NV (recently introduced to the UK market) and the prestige Cuvée Louise 2006. A complimentary selection of four canapés will be served alongside the drinks.

The organisers highlight the inclusion of the Pommery 1874 Apanage Blanc de Blancs NV, which has only recently launched in the UK. They go on to describe the opportunity to taste the Cuvée Louise 2006 as “a rare experience”. According to the organisers, the evening aims to offer “something with a stronger sense of occasion; polished and rooted in both discovery and atmosphere”. Guests will also have the opportunity to purchase a limited-edition gift box of the Cuvée Louise vintage on the night, adding an extra element for collectors or those seeking exclusive purchases.

The event comes as Covent Garden and central London prepare for a busy spring calendar, with many venues reopening terraces and hosting seasonal activities. The Maison Pommery experience is presented as a distinctive option for those looking for a midweek event with a focus on both quality and ambience.
