Arthur’s Market to open in Chelsea for premium grocery shopping and dining

Arthur’s Market, a new food and dining venue, is scheduled to open this autumn on King’s Road in Chelsea. The venture, founded by Artur Voloshin and the team behind the nearby Prince Arthur pub in Belgravia, aims to combine a premium grocery store with a diverse culinary offering. The opening marks a new addition to West London’s food scene, offering a blend of retail and dining under one roof.

The market will house a grocer, deli, butcher and fishmonger, with an emphasis on high-quality, seasonal and often hard-to-source produce. According to the founders, the fishmonger will offer a distinctive range of seafood, including whole Spanish tuna, blue belly prawns, carabineros and various types of sea urchin, sourced from both UK suppliers in Cornwall and Scotland and international producers, including Japan.

Two dining concepts will operate within the market: ASA Izakaya, a Japanese-inspired hand roll and sushi bar, and Salvador, a European-style tapas bar centred around a wood-fired grill. During the day, ASA will offer a 12-seat counter for lunch service, while in the evening, it will transform into a more intimate dining space accommodating up to 30 guests.

ASA Izakaya is led by chef Shaulan Steenson, whose previous experience includes Endo at the Rotunda in London, Hakkoku in Japan and Sushi Jin in Singapore. The menu will feature dishes such as Squid Kasudzuke Nigiri, Scallop Nigiri and Langoustine Nigiri. An extensive selection of caviar and roe will also be available, along with premium sakes including Dassai Beyond and Juyondai.

Salvador will offer 25 counter seats and a rotating menu of small plates using ingredients from the market’s butcher and fishmonger. Dishes may include Beef Tartare with Barrel Aged Soy and Bone Marrow, or Pork Presa with Nduja Bean Stew. A daily special will showcase rare cuts such as A5 wagyu or imported Japanese fish.

Arthur’s Market will also stock a range of pantry items, including olive oils, caviar and its own-label wine produced in partnership with the Prince Arthur. The founders describe the project as a “celebration of great food” and aim to serve both local residents and visiting food enthusiasts.
