The Clink Restaurant at HMP Brixton launches 2025 Christmas menu

The Clink Restaurant at HMP Brixton is launching its 2025 Christmas menu on the 2nd of December, offering a seasonal dining experience within the walls of the South London prison. Operated by The Clink Charity, the restaurant provides hands-on hospitality training to prisoners, aiming to reduce reoffending by equipping participants with professional skills and qualifications. The festive menu and accompanying gift range are part of the charity’s broader mission to support prisoner rehabilitation.

Located inside HMP Brixton on Jebb Avenue, The Clink is one of the UK’s few public-facing prison restaurants. It offers a unique dining setting where inmates, under the supervision of professional chefs and hospitality staff, prepare and serve meals to paying guests. The initiative forms part of a wider programme that includes training in prison kitchens and gardens, as well as community-based facilities such as The Clink Training Café.

The 2025 Christmas menu is priced at £32.50 for two courses or £43.50 for three. Starters include Beetroot-cured Sea Trout, a Roasted Pumpkin Tartlet, or Duck Rillettes. Main course options feature Traditional Roast Turkey, Sirloin of Beef, Pan-roasted Hake, and a vegan alternative of wild mushroom-stuffed hispi cabbage. Desserts include Pear and Stem Ginger Pudding, Classic Christmas Pudding, Bitter Chocolate Mousse, and an artisan cheeseboard. Meals are served with Clink Bakery bread and festive sides such as rosemary roast potatoes, pigs in blankets, and Brussels sprouts with pancetta and chestnuts.

In addition to dining, The Clink is offering a selection of seasonal gifts. These include gift vouchers ranging from £10 to £120, festive hampers, handmade biscuits, preserves, and a brownie and blondie selection box priced at £28. The Clink’s 10-Year Cookbook, featuring over 80 recipes, is also available for £10. All proceeds contribute to the charity’s training and support programmes.

Founded in 2009, The Clink Charity currently operates training programmes in several UK prisons and community settings. In 2024 alone, the organisation trained over 800 individuals, awarded 650 NVQ qualifications, and delivered more than 28,000 training hours through its various initiatives.
