For their biggest headline show to date outside of their native Australia, Spacey Jane put on a performance that felt at ease, polished and unequivocally cemented their status as indie rock’s most exciting rising stars. Situated in the very eye of the Australian storm that is shaking up the world of indie music, the band of best friends have an impressive catalogue, spanning four albums over the past five years. Most recently, 2025’s If That Makes Sense marks Spacey Jane’s most sonically cohesive and lyrically wry offering to date, and luckily for fans, the band are generous in playing the album’s biggest tracks. Starting off strong with kicker Through My Teeth and moving into the mellower, contemplative Estimated Delivery, each song feels like it takes on a new life, reinvigorated, so far from the places encompassed within their story.

For all intents and purposes, the tour serves as a Greatest Hits to Date, with every next tune eliciting even more raucous, knowing cheers from the audience – crowd favourite Sawteeth is the centrepiece, surrounded by hits young and old, including album highlights All the Noise and Whateverrrr. Playing out to an audience principally composed of their fellow countrymen, the show feels like a union, a homecoming for so many for whom the band have been formative in and outside of Australia. Fans closer to home were simply to witness a musical masterclass – each member took a moment to emphasise the sense of gratitude that filled the stage, as well as awe that the music connects to this day and that their fanbase spans thousands of miles. Those who have been with the band since the beginning were treated to a self-professed “vintage Spacey Jane” section, with the main set unsurprisingly coming to a close on Booster Seat, which sent the crowd into a frenzy of nostalgia and real-time appreciation.

Wrapping up the evening with So Much Taller and Lots of Nothing, Spacey Jane reaffirmed their status as the most excitable, genuine and talented band currently gracing the Australian indie scene. London is just the beginning for the band’s inevitable world takeover, and fans get the sense coming away from the O2 Academy Brixton that even the sky is too low a limit for this quartet.
