Premium bourbon brand Woodford Reserve has partnered with private members’ club and hotel The Ned, in the City of London, for a month-long cocktail event celebrating Old Fashioned Month. From 27th October to 23rd November, the venue’s exclusive Library Bar will open its doors to the public for the first time, offering a limited-edition cocktail menu titled The Old Fashioned Edit.

The collaboration features a four-drink menu designed by George Simmons, head of bars at The Ned. Each cocktail draws inspiration from key historical periods in Woodford Reserve’s legacy and in fashion trends, aiming to showcase the evolution of the cocktail through the decades. Elizabeth McCall, Woodford Reserve’s master distiller, enthused: “There are few cocktails as enduring, or as stylish, as the Old Fashioned. This partnership with The Ned allows us to celebrate that legacy, while bringing it to life in a way that feels fresh, fashion-forward and open to all”. She added, “The Old Fashioned is more than a cocktail; it’s a cultural icon.”

The drinks menu includes:

Versailles (1810s): Woodford Reserve, Calvados, Pineau des Charentes Rosé, aromatic bitters, pickled grape – £16.00
Empresses of Seventh Avenue (1940s): Woodford Reserve, corn, smoke, demerara, aromatic bitters – £16.00
Sunday Morning Call (1990s): Woodford Reserve, cocoa, coffee, amaretto – £16.00
New Fashioned (2020s): Woodford Reserve, cherry, date, cardamom, orange oils – £16.00

The Ned, which launched in 2017, operates as both a hotel and private members’ club and has since expanded internationally with locations in New York, Doha and Washington, DC. Their Library Bar, typically reserved for club members, will welcome non-members from 5pm daily throughout the event period, offering a rare opportunity to visit one of the venue’s most exclusive spaces, located within the historic former Midland Bank building designed by Sir Edwin Ned Lutyens in 1924.

Simmons commented, “Woodford Reserve is a timeless classic, and we are delighted to open the Library Bar for the first time to the public – we expect it to be a great success.”
