Blue Boar Pub teams up with Hash Hut for seven-week hash brown residency in Westminster

Blue Boar Pub, located within Conrad London St James, has announced a new collaboration with street food vendor Hash Hut, launching a seven-week residency beginning next Friday. The partnership will see Hash Hut bring its signature hash brown-based dishes to the Westminster pub every Friday until 26th December, offering both lunch and dinner services.

The collaboration marks a meeting of two distinct strands of London’s food scene: the established, modern British gastropub and the experimental, street food start-up. Blue Boar, which won Best Greater London Pub at the 2022 National Pub & Bar Awards, is known for its contemporary take on the traditional London boozer. Meanwhile, Hash Hut, founded by James Sharp and Phoebe Boddy, has built a following at food markets by reimagining the hash brown as a central dish.

The menu for the residency features a range of dishes developed in collaboration by the two teams, including Hash Browns with Caviar and Crème Fraîche, Pulled Pork Hash Browns with Pickled Chilli and Crispy Chilli Soy-Braised Beef Cheek Served on a Hash Brown. Additional offerings include a Hash Brown Butty with truffle butter and Parmesan, and Truffle-topped Hash Brown Chips with aged Parmesan. Debuting in late November is a seasonal addition, the Christmas Hash Brown Sandwich, described as “an indulgent affair” featuring Hash Chips, a pigs in blankets patty, sprout and onion slaw and herb stuffing, served on brioche buns with a gravy dip.

Angelique Rother, director of food and beverages at Conrad London St James, enthused: “Hash Hut’s creativity fits perfectly with what we do at Blue Boar. It’s playful, indulgent and exactly the kind of collaboration our guests love.” James Sharp, CEO and founder of Hash Hut, concurred, saying, “We share the same approach as Blue Boar, doing familiar dishes really well. Guests can expect the same Hash Hut, just a different postcode.”

The residency will run exclusively on Fridays at the Blue Boar Pub, with bookings available via the venue’s website.
