Disney and Pixar’s original animated comedy Hoppers lands in UK cinemas on 6ᵗʰ March 2026, bringing with it a high-concept premise and a star-studded voice cast.

Directed by Daniel Chong (We Bare Bears) and produced by Nicole Paradis Grindle (Incredibles 2), the film follows Mabel (Piper Curda), an animal lover who signs up for an experimental technology that allows her to “hop” her consciousness into a lifelike robotic beaver. What begins as a breakthrough in communication soon draws her into a surprisingly complex animal society, complete with rival leaders and simmering tensions.

The voice cast includes Meryl Streep as the Insect Queen and Dave Franco as Titus, alongside Kathy Najimy, Melissa Villaseñor, Ego Nwodim, Vanessa Bayer, Sam Richardson and Aparna Nancherla. They join previously announced cast members Bobby Moynihan as the endlessly optimistic beaver monarch King George and Jon Hamm as Mayor Jerry, a polished politician whose calm public image starts to fray when Mabel’s experiment threatens to disrupt his campaign.

Chong and Grindle have described the ensemble as “legendary”, highlighting the range the cast brought to the project – from broad comedy to more heartfelt moments, not to mention an array of dedicated animal noises.

Set in the town of Beaverton, Hoppers blends family-friendly comedy with themes of technology, environmental responsibility and leadership. An original score by Mark Mothersbaugh (Thor: Ragnarok) accompanies the action.

Following a run of sequels and franchise titles, Hoppers marks another original story from Pixar, continuing the studio’s tradition of building new worlds from scratch.
