The Magic Faraway Tree, a new adaptation of Enid Blyton’s classic children’s stories, is set to arrive in UK and Ireland cinemas on 27ᵗʰ March 2026.

Directed by Ben Gregor (Black Ops, Brassic) and written by Simon Farnaby (Paddington 2, Wonka), the film brings together a large ensemble cast led by Andrew Garfield and Claire Foy.

Foy and Garfield play Polly and Tim, parents who move their three children to the English countryside in search of a fresh start. As the family struggles to adjust, the children discover a magical tree inhabited by a host of unusual characters, including Moonface (Nonso Anozie), Silky (Nicola Coughlan), Dame Washalot (Jessica Gunning) and Saucepan Man (Dustin Demri-Burns), with Rebecca Ferguson appearing as Dame Snap.

At the top of the tree lies a gateway to a series of fantastical lands that change from visit to visit, pulling the children into unpredictable adventures. As their journeys unfold, the experience begins to reshape the family’s relationships and helps them reconnect.

The supporting cast includes Mark Heap, Oliver Chris, Sir Lenny Henry, Sir Michael Palin, Sir Simon Russell Beale and Jennifer Saunders.

With its mix of well-known British talent and a story rooted in one of Blyton’s most enduring works, The Magic Faraway Tree is set to bring a familiar fantasy to cinemas for a new generation when it opens later this month.
