The ’Burbs isn’t done stirring up suburban chaos just yet, with Sky confirming the mystery-comedy will return for a second season in the UK and Ireland.

The series, inspired by the 1989 cult horror-comedy film, follows a young couple played by Keke Palmer and Jack Whitehall, who relocate to a seemingly quiet neighbourhood that quickly proves anything but. What starts as an uneasy move into the husband’s childhood home soon spirals when a new neighbour arrives, uncovering long-buried secrets and setting off a chain of increasingly dangerous events.

Season one blended dark humour with mystery, building a world where the cul-de-sac’s polished exterior masked something far more sinister. Alongside Palmer and Whitehall, the show also stars Julia Duffy, Paula Pell, Mark Proksch and Kapil Talwalkar.

Behind the scenes, the series is created by Celeste Hughey, who also serves as writer and executive producer, with Rachel Shukert and director Nzingha Stewart among the executive producing team. Keke Palmer also executive produces, alongside Seth MacFarlane and Brian Grazer.

While details on the new season are still under wraps, the renewal suggests there’s more to uncover in this deceptively ordinary neighbourhood.
