Over 100 UK cinemas to offer free screenings of countryside documentary Our Land

More than 110 independent cinemas across the UK will offer free tickets to see new documentary Our Land this May, as part of a nationwide initiative to make cinema more accessible.

Screening on 5th and 6th May, the film explores the growing movement pushing for greater public access to nature in England. It follows both landowners and campaigners as they clash over who gets to use the countryside, highlighting the fact that 92% of land and 97% of rivers in England are not legally accessible to the public.

The free screenings are part of Escapes, a BFI-backed scheme supported by National Lottery funding, which aims to widen access to cinema through regular free events held across the country.

By partnering with independent venues, the initiative brings films like Our Land to audiences who might not otherwise have the chance to see them, while also encouraging people back into local cinemas.

Tickets for the screenings are available now via escapetothecinema.co.uk. Our Land will screen for free at participating cinemas across the UK on 5th and 6th May.
