London Transport Museum café launches transport-themed pancake menu

London Transport Museum and catering company Benugo have just introduced a new pancake menu, named The Pancake Line, at the Museum’s café in Covent Garden. The three-dish menu uses transport-inspired names and is available to anyone visiting the area, with no Museum ticket required.

The menu comprises three vegetarian options. The Brunel Brownie Stack consists of golden syrup pancakes served with Greek yoghurt, chocolate sauce and chunks of brownie. The Caramel Master features golden syrup pancakes topped with Greek yoghurt, salted caramel sauce, salted popcorn and Biscoff crumb. The Piccadilly Mess offers golden syrup pancakes with Greek yoghurt, crushed meringue and blueberry compote.

The names of the dishes reference London’s transport lines and the city’s engineering heritage, including a nod to the Victorian engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel and the Piccadilly line. The menu pairs familiar dessert options with transport-themed branding aimed at families and other visitors.

Each dish is priced at £10.50, with children’s portions available at £5.50. No reservations are required to use the café.

The café is positioned for use by those exploring the Museum’s galleries, learning about the history of London’s transport network, or spending time in Covent Garden more generally.

Benugo, which operates the café, was founded in 1998 in Clerkenwell, London, by brothers Ben and Hugo. The company runs high street stores as well as cafés and restaurants within a number of public spaces and visitor attractions, including the Natural History Museum, the V&A, the Ashmolean, the British Museum, the Science Museum, ABBA Voyage, BFI Southbank, Edinburgh and Stirling Castles, and John Lewis stores across the UK.

The London Transport Museum is based in Covent Garden and documents the history and development of transport in the capital, including buses, trains and the Underground network. Its galleries include interactive exhibits and historic vehicles charting the evolution of London’s transport system.
