Maika Monroe stars as a murderous governess in Victorian Psycho, the upcoming gothic horror from director Zachary Wigon, with the first trailer offering a glimpse of the adaptation of Virginia Feito’s acclaimed novel ahead of its UK cinema release this autumn.

Set in Victorian England, the film follows Winifred, an eccentric governess whose arrival at a remote country manor is soon followed by a series of increasingly disturbing events. As her grip on reality begins to unravel, the estate descends into violence, forcing those around her to confront the deadly secret she has been hiding.

Monroe is joined by an ensemble cast including Jason Isaacs, Ruth Wilson, Thomasin McKenzie, Jacobi Jupe and Evie Templeton. Wigon directs from a screenplay by Feito, adapting her own novel, while Longlegs producer Dan Kagan is among the film’s producers.

Blending psychological horror with Gothic atmosphere, Victorian Psycho brings Feito’s darkly comic novel to the screen with a cast led by one of contemporary horror’s most recognisable stars.
