Made in Camden in Chalk Farm

Made in Camden in Chalk Farm | Restaurant review

A short stroll from Chalk Farm station in North London, nestled away in The Roundhouse, sits a culinary delight. I can assure you that Made in Camden is not just another eatery attached to a concert venue waiting to serve fast food to gig-goers; no, this meze-style restaurant is cool and contemporary without being pretentious and serves exquisite food which would impress even the most discerning of palates. Its laid-back vibe and vintage canteen chic decor provides the perfect backdrop to any dining experience, from a romantic dinner for two to brunch with the girls on the weekend.

With delightful waiting staff, delicious food and a divine cocktail list as long as your arm, it’s easy to see no corners have been cut at Made in Camden. Our waiter explained that the menu consisted of small plates and recommended we ordered 2-3 per person, and that if we wanted more after that we were welcome to order them. (Fear not, there are a handful of bigger plates for those not keen to share.)

Must-try dishes include the pan-fried fennel with marinated feta, pistachio & salted caramel, the crisp-fried chicken in a black vinegar glaze with carrot and miso purée and for dessert, the apple & quince crumble with butter caramel and green apple sorbet. For dinner, three dishes and wine works out at around £30 per head.

This kitchen has got talent and it’s well worth venturing off the beaten path to discover it.
