Tatty Devine launches new silver range

Tatty Devine launches new silver range

What began as a stall at Spitalfields Market in 1999 has steadily grown into an iconic part of British fashion. Tatty Devine is the jewellery company created by Fine Art graduates of Chelsea School, Rosie Wolfenden and Harriet Vine.

After completing their degrees, the pair started making jewellery out of leather combined with ordinary objects like cake cutters and guitar plectrums.  Their creations were a resounding success and from there the brand grew developed a cult following of fashionistas.

Perspex silhouettes are the signature style of Tatty Devine, and their customised name necklaces have been worn by the likes of Claudia Schiffer and Jessie J, but now the design duo are making a move to silver. Next week sees the launch of Tatty Devine’s new range for Selfridges, fine, an exclusive collection that maintains the witty and offbeat designs of their cult classics, but in a more grown-up manner.

“Our fine collection has a more grown-up and ladylike feel and will hopefully bring Tatty Devine’s humour and signature style to a new audience,” says Wolfenden. “We are thrilled to have been snapped up by Selfridges,” she added.

The range consists of four different necklaces with unusual pendants, such as a chip shop fork and a miniature moustache.  Similar kitsch designs decorate the rings in the collection, and a lone pair of stud heart earrings makes up the final component.

However, it’s not just the designs that are altogether more sophisticated – the prices are too, with the collection ranging from £100-£300.  The items go on sale in Selfridges and Tatty Devine boutiques from 26 January and their original and playful designs definitely warrant spending the extra few pounds.
