Not just for the geeks: The most anticipated techs of 2012

If the New Year has not done much new for you and is still leaving you a bit peaky, then chin up: the year 2012 promises to be the year of tech revolution. From smart phones getting smarter to gaming stations taking gaming to a whole new level, these techs will take the Mickey out from the most Zen of us. Take a look and keep a check on those greed levels.

iPhone 5: Though the world waited with bated breath in 2011 for the smartest of smart phones, the iPhone 5, and only got iPhone 4S, Apple is expected to finally release iPhone 5 mid-2012. While Apple has kept its mouth tightly shut on this one, it’s rumoured that the new phone will have bigger screen – about four inches – and more attractive structural changes.

Sony PS3: Coming in an eye-catching gold colour and promising to make you a complete gaming addict (like we really needed any of this), Sony’s limited edition PS3 is expected to hit the shelves by March. The device is an ode to Japanese history, in particular Manga – Japanese animation and comics. This PS3 looks neat with a lovely gold hue finish, is equipped with a 320 GB HHD, and also comes supplied with the One Piece Warriors games pre-loaded and gold covered wireless controller.

Prada phone: The devil not only wears Prada but communicates with it too! The fashion giant and LG have renewed their exclusive phone partnership and will launch the third phone in the Prada phone series this year. Like all things Prada, it’s sexy and sleek with a 4.3-inch display, higher speed, a thinner frame and Android version 2.3.

iPad3: Trust the tech masters from Apple to turn all of us into tech freaks. The Apple iPad 3 may hit the market as early as February-March. This new and improved iPad is expected to have features like an A6 processor, Retina Display, iOS 5 with Siri pre-installed and improved battery life and camera.

Apple TV: Apple seems to be leading this year’s tech revolution, and the Apple TV is guaranteed to take the idiocy out of the idiot box. The company seems all set to revolutionise the television industry, in the same way it changed the mobile phone market, with its very first TV. The Apple TV will be about 35 inches in size with the power of Apple’s TV set top box within. It also has Siri support enabling you to talk your TV. What more can we ask for?
