Taking a look at the Poorboy vintage boutique

Taking a look at the Poorboy vintage boutique

Launched in December of last year, Poorboy boutique is still very much in its infancy as a clothing company, but already the lovely people there have managed to unearth some unique vintage treasures.

The high standard in quality of Poorboy’s collection really stand them in a different league, above the plethora of pre-loved clothing boutiques found on the Internet nowadays.

Although they specialise in quintessentially British brands such as Burberry, Barbour and Hunter, Poorboy source their garments from all over the world. So hung amongst the traditional macintoshes, wax jackets and wellington boots are more exotic, eye-catching pieces.

Poorboy stock Nordic company Saga Furs. Founded in the 1950s, Saga were amongst the first furriers in the world to establish ethical treatment of the animals they were farming. The improved standard of care leads to superior animal pelts, so Saga was able to make the very finest quality fur coats.

Don’t be fooled by the name, Poorboy isn’t just for the cash strapped. They do stock everyday wear but their high-end menswear collection sees quality vintage finds, such as Christian Dior knitwear and a couple of amazing YSL velvet dinner jackets.

As well as fur coats, sequin evening dresses and vintage clutch bags, ladies are treated to a gorgeous selection of day dresses. This 1960s blue shift dress won my heart immediately.

Despite only being up and running for little over a month, Poorboy boast an unusual, eclectic and very high quality stock and with prices starting from a very reasonable £22, I doubt Poorboy will be poor for long. Visit the online boutique here.
