Ethnic fashion: LeJuLondon by Lenny Trines

Ethnic fashion: LeJuLondon by Lenny Trines

Ever heard of contemporary, eye-catching jewellery made of natural ingredients such as vegetable dyes and seeds? Are you intrigued? So were we.

If you’re a magpie for eco-friendly jewellery then LeJuLondon should be high on your list of things to look for this weekend. We love this label, not only for its awe-inspiring designs, but also due to the fact that these products are made from sustainable ingredients found in abundance in nature.

Lenny Trines founded LeJu whilst travelling through South America, during which time he spent eight weeks in the Amazonian rainforest, exploring different villages. It was here that Trines discovered his true desire: to create jewellery using natural materials, and the colours, shapes and energy echoed in the rainforest.

The jewellery is a perfect mix of modern designs from European, fashionable circles as well as components gathered from nature. The jewellery is made using a special seed called Vegetable Ivory, obtained from a special palm tree found in Amazonian rainforest.

What makes Vegetable Ivory really special is that it is the best and the only sustainable alternative to elephant ivory, having the same toughness and versatility. Given these numerous reasons, it’s no wonder that LeJuLondon is one of the few lines out there that makes eco-friendly fashion a reality.

Lenny is also proud to say that the jewellery is now manufactured in a small workshop he set up in Colombia, where three women help the designer to make jewellery. Lenny spends up to five months of the year there, sourcing materials and designing collections.

Drool over and fall in love with LeJuLondon here.
