Vans Custom Made + You tour celebrates their long standing connection with the arts – Camden Town, London

We were invited to experience the first leg of the Vans Custom Made + You tour at their newest Camden Town location.

In celebration of their longstanding connection with the arts, complimentary drinks and bumping tunes accompanied the evening as sneaker-hungry VIP’s mingled amongst featured artwork.  Vans enlisted artists Ben Bobzien, French, Keven Grey, Seth Shelman and Tim Wolf to travel throughout Europe, creating storefront fixtures live at various shopping destinations.  The live art shows are designed to emphasise the brand’s bespoke customisation service and exhibit the participating artist’s footwear design.

Despite having opened their doors just a month ago, the Vans Camden Town destination is said to be heaving with young customers looking to get their hands on the Californian-born brand.  Located just opposite the tube station, the store’s prime location is in close proximity to the famous Camden Market, and various bars and music venues will surely continue to draw large crowds of tourists and brand enthusiasts alike.  The spacious interior is raw and edgy, with earthy wood and wire supporting its warehouse-styled store displays.  Think of an atmosphere similar to many of their U.S. locations, but with a less mainstream product assortment.  The store provokes a strong urban aesthetic, brilliantly reflecting Camden’s alternative culture.

A distinctively niche culture and a keen eye for the latest trends has made Vans a dominant force in the extreme sports industry. Vans provides apparel, accessories, outerwear, skateboards and longboards for active men and women.  Uniting elite athletes and amateurs under one brand, Vans has solidified their presence in extreme sports through contemporary apparel, event sponsorships and a chain of skateboarding parks.
