Fred Perry’s Sub-Sonic live returns this October

The 10th of October 2013 marks another historic event in British street sub-culture. Fred Perry’s Sub-Sonic live will return with a special event curated by legendary reggae ambassador David Rodigan.  The Fred Perry brand born in the 1940’s has been a key contributor to British street style for over 50 years and Rodigan a key contributor to the British reggae scene for over 30 years.

Sub-Sonic live plays an integral part of pioneering and reporting on the best of emerging internal music talent and aims to commemorate those who have left a lasting influence over contemporary culture.  

The event will be headlined by Rodigan who has extensive knowledge of Jamaican artists and their music and will be focusing on reggae and British reggae – two of the most significant subcultures of the last forty years. Joining Rodigan is another reggae favourite and legend, Lee “Scratch” Perry.

Lee is a long time follower of the Rastafarian movement and is a pioneer in reggae music. Knowing that he has worked with reggae legends like Bob Marley and the Wailers make his involvement so much more exciting!

The event will be held at The Garage, Highbury, which is London’s favourite Indie and Rock venue.  Also making their appearances will be dub act Resonators, Venum DJ’s aka Kris Snakes & Monkey Harris, two lifelong friends with a penchant for all things vinyl and Jet Letts, son of the legendary punk filmmaker Don Letts.
