Haven’t you heard? Paper is the next big thing! Meet the four-year-old fashion designer!
Meet Mayhem. The four-year-old little girl who makes some of the most beautiful dresses we at The Upcoming have ever seen. The only catch is they are made from paper!
Mayhem is an Instagram sensation, who hit the internet this week after a Huffington Post article has introduced this wonderful, talented girl and her mum Angie to the world of fashion. Angie, who became fed up of removing clothes from her daughter’s bedroom decided that one day, they would make a dress out of paper. Since then, Mayhem has become obsessed with creating her own dresses using lots of her own inspirations.
The pictures are beyond adorable. The family duo have created dresses using paper and adding things they’ve found around their home, and in doing so, have recreated some of the most famous dresses worn by celebrities. Mayhem has been snapped in a paper version of dresses modelled by Katy Perry and Taylor Swift, as well as replica gowns created on the television programme, Project Runway. Her ideas also include a Minnie Mouse dress, and dresses using inspiration from My Little Pony and Frozen.
In her interview with the newspaper, Angie is extremely modest and states that she is not in any way crafty. They simply use paper and tape to create the pieces that Mayhem likes. Ideas come from both of them and Mayhem hasn’t lost interest yet. So who knows, maybe we can see Mayhem’s very own line in years to come!
