Fashion extraordinaire Louise Wilson dies aged 52
Professor of style and all round fashion mogul Louise Wilson passed away in her sleep whilst visiting her sister in Scotland.
The 52-year-old will always be remembered as one who changed the world of fashion with her tutoring of many globally successful fashion designers. In the past Wilson helped tutor the likes of Christopher Kane, Stella McCartney and Alexander McQueen, to name but a few. She will also be remembered for her straight-talking nature and as the director of the MA fashion course at London’s Central Saint Martins, where she had been working for the past 12 years.
Wilson received an OBE in 2002 for her services to fashion and education, and was widely respected for her brilliant teaching and extensive knowledge of the fashion world. She worked temporarily as creative director for Donna Karan from 1997 to 1999, but ultimately returned to London’s Central Saint Martins where she became a full-time professor and worked till her death this year.
Wilson will not only be remembered as being an iconic fashion professor and as having a glorious effect on the fashion industry, but also as a wife and mother.
