Festival fashion: Style tips and best buys

The festival season is in full swing with Glastonbury taking the world by storm (quite literally) and Coachella spreading cross-continental summer vibes. It’s all about the music, sun, cider and most of all, style. Here are some tips to keep your closet festival savvy this year.

When celebrities swap catwalk shows for sludgy fields it can be a beauty to behold, and this year was no exception. Amongst the wardrobe winners this year were some familiar faces.

Millie Mackintosh, in her khaki jacket, pulled off the punky look by adding a pair of black Hunter wellies, Ray-Bans and leather shorts at Glastonbury. The floral headband gives a hint of “femme” to finish the outfit. Cara Delevingne rocks tomboy chic in a backwards cap and high tops while Clara Paget goes for laidback hipster with beanie in tow.

In contrast, unlikely bohemian Vanessa Hudgens completes her ensemble with oversized sunnies and a sleeveless cardigan at Coachella this year, and of course the queen of bo-ho herself, Sienna Miller, never fails to effortlessly achieve the festival look that everyone lusts after.

Whether you want to channel your inner hippy or get quirky in the crowds, here are a few best buys for festivals this summer.

This Crown and Glory headband is actually owned by Millie Mackintosh, and other celebrities just can’t get enough of the floral headwear. Possibly the most important item in any backpack is a fail-safe pair of denim shorts; Topshop nail the washed-out style with these classics. The Monsoon jacket, River Island bag and Dorothy Perkins cuff all give a bit of glam to an outfit from simple but effective embellishment, while the black Hunter wellies and Nike cap add a grungy edge.
