Five places to book your last-minute NYE in London

Five places to book your last-minute NYE in London

It’s that time again, New Year’s Eve. Just hours before the ball drops and guess what? You’ve got absolutely nothing planned. You told yourself last year that you wouldn’t put yourself in this position, yet here you are, again! You had 12 months to think about it but it seems as though time has passed you by because, you’ve got absolutely nothing planned or booked… zilch, zero. So what are you going to do? Panic? Let out a little scream? Cry? Well there’s no need because help is at hand, and even though it will be last minute, we’ve got five things you can do and places you can book for New Year’s Eve in London.

1. Go to the theatre

Wicked, The Lion King, The Book of Mormon and more are on tonight, so why not go along and enjoy the show. Tickets are available online and at the ticket box office, meaning you can end the year on a entertaining high.

2. Go clubbing

The Oceana clubs in Watford and Kingston, London, are having massive New Year’s Eve parties, and even though tickets may be sold out online, you can buy at the door. However, be prepared for door prices to be a bit higher than your usual Saturday night deal. And please bring a coat; you don’t want to catch a cold while waiting for the New Year to ring in – trust me!

3. Visit your local pub

Open all year round and welcoming guests from all over, pubs in London are classic hot spots and always guarantee a good, stress-free time. So pop down for a local drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic, your choice) and have a merry time, chilling and chatting with the punters right into the new year.

4. Host a house party

We know what you’re thinking. Host a house party? Really? Isn’t it a bit too last minute? Well actually no, and besides, anything is possible on New Year’s Eve. Seriously, you can use all that leftover food from the feast that was Christmas Day. Call some friends over, some family members and even some neighbours for a last minute do. Dust off those CDs, turn the iPod high, or tune into the best music television channel for a free all night DJ service. It doesn’t have to be big, but it’s a great idea, especially as you will be closing the year with the people you love and enjoy the most.

5. Check out lastminute.com

When planning something last minute to do on New Year’s Eve, there’s no site better than lastminute.com. Check out its great deals, quick breaks and cheap offers that can be a real saver when it seems like every place in London is closed.

Whatever you decide to do tonight, whether you’re going out or staying in, make sure you have fun. Remember that it happens once a year and hey if you can’t do what you wanted to do this year…. There’s always next New Year’s!
