Top motorcycle races of 2015

Top motorcycle races of 2015

The 2015 schedule for the world championship of motorcycle road racing season was introduced to the general public recently. There were no major surprises announced, as tour officials pledged for another year of exciting races for all to enjoy.

Also, they fully explained the technical changes taking place to the motorcycles being used in the upcoming racing season, stressing that the changes were strongly endorsed by the riders themselves.

The race to the championship should be very exciting to watch, as it will be contested on four continents before a rider is crowned. All of the racers share a passion to travel at a high rate of speed, which brings a smile to their fan base.

Here are the top races of 2015:

Dakar Rally

The Dakar Rally is easily recognised as the toughest off-road race on the European racing calendar. Past participants feel this race is the ultimate test of man vs machine, as the terrain allows very few to claim victory.

After 30 years of being staged in Africa, the Dakar Rally moved to South America in 2009. Thankfully, the spirit of the race hasn’t changed much, as each racer must use their skills to outlast the competition in this extreme endurance race.

This year’s event will take place in Argentina, as the route will take the racers across the Andes in Chile, then north to Bolivia before returning home to Buenos Aires. The winner will have travelled 5,772 miles in every conceivable weather condition imagined and without any assistance. At the conclusion, all will gather near the Presidential Palace to celebrate the victor.

Sepang

One of the toughest courses on the MotoGP is the Sepang track in Malaysia, as the top riders will begin their preparation well in advance of the race date. Many sceptics have suggested the number of tragic accidents that claimed lives have shocked the sport and escalated concerns on the overall condition of this venue.

Track officials feel these fatal accidents are random rather than the norm and the condition of the course had nothing to do with their outcome. Typically, a rider will schedule three days of pre-racing training prior to the actual event, but some have expressed a desire to take a full week at Sepang this year.

The Isle of Man Festival

The Isle of Man Festival is strictly for the motorcycle racing enthusiasts, as you’ll see an eclectic mix of fans that show their love for vintage and modern racing machines. One of the top races of 2015 is scheduled for late summer, as each race pays tribute to the tradition of motorcycle racing on this island. Often, the festival’s grounds are filled with tents that are occupied with unique memorabilia, classic motorcycles and multiple autograph sessions with past and current stars.

Superprestigio Superfinal

Most attendees feel the post-race celebration in downtown Barcelona is far more entertaining than the Superprestigio Superfinal race itself. This event draws between 5,000-9,000 fans, as the field usually pits the top racers on the tour against one another and this year should be no exception. Tour officials feel this course in particular has provided European riders with the opportunity to improve their skills on a dirt track.

They’re gaining on their American counterparts, as it took a while for European racers to sacrifice speed and learn how to launch their bikes coming out of the corners. Typically, they love maintaining high speed coming out of the bend and easing the power on the straight-aways. This might the year where the Europeans make some noise in one of the top races of 2015.

However, it’s important not to get influenced by the speed of the bike racers during your regular biking. To avoid road accidents, one should always abide by the traffic rules.
