Charles Youssef collection presentation for NYFW S/S 2016
Today, Charles Youssef presented New Geometry, his new and elegant Spring/Summer 2016 collection at Gansevoort Meatpacking NYC. This marks the designer’s third collection and presentation at New York Fashion Week.
Charles Youssef received his undergraduate degree from Parsons School of Design in New York and his MA in Womenswear from Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design in London.
This collection is the fifth since the launch of the label in 2014 and designer Charles Youssef stays true to the recurring theme of geometry, drawing inspiration from Japanese architect Tadao Ando’s creative, concrete structure.
The newest collection featured 21 looks and collection highlights included a number of geometric prints, wool trousers, sheer fabrics, structured day-wear and elegant evening gowns.
Although much of the collection featured neutral tones such as blacks, whites, greys and blush nudes, splashes of colour appeared in the form of royal blue and emerald accents.
Charles held senior design positions at Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren in New York, Gareth Pugh in London and Cerruti in Paris. In 2014, Charles launched his eponymous New York based label with a Resort collection.
