Johnson Hartig’s Libertine spring/summer 2016 show featured a variety of eye-catching pieces and 80s-inspired garments. From shimmering jumpsuits to oversized frocks, the creative team brought unparalleled fashions to the runway this week.
As noted in many of this year’s collections, embellishments, sheers, cuffs, and oversized pieces ran the show. The collection debuted an assortment of jumpsuits, midi dresses, and blazer-trouser duos. The designs featured a number of patches that included detailed adornments such as animals, evil eyes, and other objects that caught the eye. Show-stopping furs and eccentric, embellished coats strutted down the runway, provoking jealousy, awe, and excitement in audience members preparing for the collection to hit stores next year. Many of Hartig’s outfits incorporated the use of sheer black ripped tights underneath the looks. His striking creations seen on the runway tonight were a refreshing taste of 80s style meets millennial street wear.
When the men’s collection took the stage, the looks included matching tracksuits and street-style clothes. There was a similarity to the women’s line in the mixing of patterns and no shortage of black. From black hoodies to crew neck sweaters embellished with sparkling numbers and patches, Hartig continuously demonstrated the bold and extravagant taste for which he is best known.
