Leonardo DiCaprio finally wins an Oscar
After 22 years of waiting, Leonardo DiCaprio has finally claimed the award for Best Actor at the Oscars.
As soon as his name was called, social media went wild in support of Leo and the audience held a loud applause for the overdue win. DiCaprio’s speech was passionately delivered as he constructed his words around political beliefs: “Let us not take this planet for granted; I do not take tonight for granted.”
After already being nominated for the Oscars six times, even other celebrities couldn’t contain their excitement for DiCaprio. Many other famous faces showed the actor their support, tweeting and posting photos of him from over his acting career.
DiCaprio won with his leading role in The Revenant, competing against Bryan Cranston, Matt Damon, Michael Fassbender and Eddie Redmayne.
Now that DiCaprio has finally gained his first Oscar award, we hope he will win many more in the years to come!
