The best spring/summer 2016 campaigns

As we leap into a new year, spring is already on the horizon, bringing along an abundance of new spring/summer fashion trends. From London Fashion Week to Paris Fashion Week, established names are making their presence known by their use of aesthetic and creation, through season campaigning.

3.1 Phillip Lim

3.1 Phillip Lim created an artistically stunning campaign, one of which symbolises authenticity and personality. Shot by Dutch artist, Viviane Sassen, the ideology mixes both high-end fashion with natural and earthy undertones, in regard to use of environment and surroundings. Liya Kebede, the model depicted throughout the campaign, was invited to take campaign photos in her hometown Addis Ababa, in Ethiopia.  By taking natural shots of Liya Kebede and her family, a “romance reality” fashion campaign was created, through minimalism and intimacy.

Stella McCartney

Stella McCartney creates a feel good, vibrant campaign this season, depicting individual style of which she believes women hold. Fashion photographer Harley Weir shot the campaign just outside of Paris. Two girls are depicted, lying effortlessly on the raw, natural grassy ground.  McCartney creates a summer-chic campaign this spring, showing the laid-back affection that summer definitely holds. As the designer once said, “Women are my muse, women inspire me”.

Diesel

Diesel’s Black Gold campaign, shot in downtown LA by Karim Sadli, shows visual concrete tones of which go hand-in-hand with the natural lighting illustrated. The warm, scenic tones that Diesel’s campaign envisages, is juxtaposed by the biker-style collection we see this season. By Diesel combining a sense of stylistic grunge, they continue to blossom through their edgy style.

Kurt Geiger

Kurt Geiger certainly does not conform to stereotypical gender roles this season, as boundaries are crossed between fashion and sports. Kurt Geiger certainly depicts women as being beautiful, powerful and healthy. Shot by Erik Tortensson, Karlie Kloss models in sports-stylistic poses. She definitely shows that you can look just as beautiful in American football attire as well as ball gowns and high heels.
