When we try to imagine the most beautiful places on earth, images of tranquil sandy beaches lying by the pristine, turquoise water in the remote Caribbean or tropical locations come into many of our minds. They are the paradise of our dreams, an outlet to escape from the daily hustle and taking a moment to dive deep into the beauty of our existence. However, not every island is the same. With a perfect combination of sublime beaches, exquisite wildlife reserves, comfortable climate, and a rich cultural heritage; some islands are better than the others. So, let’s check out the most beautiful islands in the world from below.

Santorini, Greece

With cliffs diving into the turquoise water of the Aegean Sea, white painted little houses overlooking the shore, and a ray of bright, warm sunshine inspiring a happy-go-round feeling; the Cyclades Islands are among the most beautiful in Europe. Out of the 220 large and small islands of the region, Santorini sits at the top of our list to check out the most beautiful islands in the world. It is an island that induces romance for its blue-domed churches, the Red Beach, the natural Spa baths in Caldera, the labyrinth of streets, etc. The sunset here is also nothing less than spectacular, while the villages of Fira offer a unique nightlife experience.

Capri, Italy

Italy is another country blessed with some of the world’s most magnificent islands. Located about 20km off the Amalfi coast, the Capri Islands are the best of them. The teal-blue water of the Tyrrhenian Sea couples up with the rising, rugged cliffs adorned with some vibrant flowers to make for a picturesque view. The blue grotto with its glowing sea caves, as well as the chair lift up to Monte Solaro offers some incredible experience and views, while the island is also famous for its designer’s clothing and perfumes.

Maldives

Lying in the luminous aquamarine water of the Indian Ocean, Maldives is a paradise in South Asia famous for its lavish honeymoon resorts, 26 natural atolls, and the dazzling white shores. Beneath the water lies some of the most diverse coral reefs in the world, making it the go-to island for snorkelling and diving. The Maldives archipelago is just 3 meters above the sea level at its highest peak and remains uncrowded most of the time to offer an unforgettable experience.

Mo’orea, French Polynesia

French Polynesia has some great islands, the peak of which is Mo’orea. A host of reef embraces the island like a loving embrace, while in the backdrop lie the jungle mountains with lush greeneries. Not very developed and uncrowded, this island is a hidden gem, great for paddling in the clear bays, or roaming around the sandy beaches. It is also great for swimming and snorkelling with sharks, turtles, and other fishes.
