Chelsea’s summer spending spree is showing no sign of slowing down as it has been announced they have acquired the services of star signing Eden Hazard’s younger brother, Thorgan. They will surely be hoping he will develop into a talent to match his brother, and it looks likely they will loan the young Belgian out to ensure he gains the experience he requires.

Thorgan Hazard is still relatively unproven at professional level, having only started 11 games for French Ligue 2 side Lens. He does have an impressive pedigree in the international youth rankings, having played for Belgium under-16s, -17s, -18s and -19s, and Chelsea will hope this will soon translate onto the pitch for them. What is guaranteed is Chelsea’s dedication to building a young, creative squad that can go on to dominate the Premier League for years to come.

The Champions League winners then strengthened their midfield with the signing of Brazil play-maker Oscar on a five-year deal.

It was revealed last week that Oscar had completed his medical at the West London club, but was widely thought to be waiting until after the Olympics to make a final decision. Chelsea, however, did not want to wait to land their man and announced the deal earlier today.

The youngster joins from Internacional for a fee estimated to be around the £25million mark. Roberto Di Matteo will be glad to have the deal completed so that he can continue his preparations for the new season without having to worry about the deal collapsing.

Oscar will now link up with his new Chelsea team mates after the Olympic Games and becomes the fourth major summer signing for the club, following Eden and Thorgan Hazard and Marko Marin.
