Smart space separation

Now that we’re working, eating, sleeping, socialising, exercising, and everything else-ing from home, creating a space in which we can do all of those things somewhat separately is absolutely key. 2021 will see a move towards rooms designed to take on more than one function. As some feel a need for calm, others will desire unparalleled creativity and sheer joy within their homes. Therefore, expect to see plenty of neutral interiors punctuated with brightly coloured walls, furniture pieces, and artworks guaranteed to inspire a smile.

Many will bid farewell to shiplap and barn doors in place of punchier spaces with a nod towards bold, darker colours and industrial styling.

Thankfully, it seems we’re all becoming more aware of the need to know where the items we buy come from and how they are created. Sustainable furniture, decor items, and even thrifted pieces will feature in many more homes in 2021 as result.
