“It’s like going back to school with your friends”: Michelle Hurd, Michael Dorn, Jeri Ryan, Todd Stashwick and Ed Speleers on Star Trek: Picard season three

The third and final season of the sci-fi adventure series Star Trek: Picard reprises the character Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) as he enters the 25th century and reunites with his old crew. Terry Matalas once again serves as the showrunner for this series and there’s a host of returning faces, as well as some brilliant newcomers.

When Picard is alerted by Crusher (Gates McFadden) to the possibility of an attack on board her own ship, it seems her only hope of survival is him. Partnering up once again with Riker (Jonathan Frakes), they have no choice but to beg for help from Seven (Jeri Ryan) in a rush against the clock to save her and themselves against a new enemy called Vadic, commander of the Shrike. Raffi (Michelle Hurd) returns with some problems of her own. Tasked with trying to stop a huge destructive event she can’t fathom, she finds issues lurking from her past come back to haunt her and, alongside all this chaos and action, there’s a family revelation that leaves Picard totally dumbfounded.

The Upcoming had the pleasure of speaking to returning cast members Michelle Hurd and Michael Dorn as they discussed the many new layers to each of their characters Raffi and Worf and where we see their journey go as the episodes unfold. They also shared some of the highlights of this action-packed season.

We then spoke to Jeri Ryan about reprising her role and her difficult relationship with this new character Captain Shaw. We also heard from Todd Stashwick about the highlights of the season and what we can expect from his character in the final series of Star Trek: Picard.

Ed Speleers further chatted to us about coming on board with the series, working with such an iconic ensemble cast and his love of the sci-fi genre.
