Warner Bros Pictures releases trailer for Joker: Folie à Deux featuring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga

Just dropped is the much-anticipated trailer for Joker: Folie à Deux, primed to hit cinemas across the UK from 4th October 2024. Directed by Todd Phillips, the sequel to his 2019 blockbuster sees Joaquin Phoenix reprising his Oscar-winning role as Arthur Fleck aka Joker, with Lady Gaga joining proceedings to play Harley Quinn, who starts out as his psychiatrist. The trailer offers a glimpse into the twisted world of the Joker, showing the pair meeting in Gotham City’s Arkham Asylum.

In contrast to the original film, this follow-up is to be a musical, with reportedly 15 numbers, most of them covers. Zazie Beetz will return as Sophie Dumond, while Catherine Keener, Brendan Gleeson, Ken Leung and Steve Coogan are also set to feature in the cast.

The sneak peek of the new trailer has triggered excitement among fans, keen to see the return of Phoenix’s critically acclaimed portrayal of the iconic villain and a further innovative take on the superhero genre.
