Apple TV+ teases Presumed Innocent with Jake Gyllenhaal leading a star-studded cast

Apple TV+ has just given audiences a first glimpse of the much-anticipated thriller, Presumed Innocent, with a teaser that dropped today. Headlined and executive produced by Jake Gyllenhaal, the series is a collaborative effort with television titans David E Kelley and JJ Abrams at the helm. This star-studded project, which also features talents like Ruth Negga, Bill Camp and Peter Sarsgaard among others, is set to premiere globally with its first two episodes on 12th June 2024, followed by weekly episodes until 24th July.

Presumed Innocent draws its narrative from Scott Turow’s New York Times bestseller, plunging viewers into a riveting legal drama where Chicago’s chief deputy prosecutor Rusty Sabich, played by Gyllenhaal, becomes the prime suspect in a murder case that shakes the city’s Prosecuting Attorney’s office to its core. The show promises a deep dive into themes of obsession, politics and the extremities of love as Sabich fights to keep his world from falling apart.

Produced under the banners of Bad Robot Productions and David E Kelley Productions in association with Warner Bros Television, the series boasts a lineup of executive producers including Abrams, Kelley and Gyllenhaal himself. Directed by Anne Sewitsky and Greg Yaitanes, both of whom also serve as executive producers, the series aims to deliver a compelling narrative through its eight-episode run.

Check out the trailer for the upcoming show below, promising a blend of suspense, drama and intricate storytelling.
