Jamie xx announces The Floor club residency: A ten-night journey through London’s underground scene

Jamie xx has just announced a unique ten-night club residency dubbed The Floor, set to take place from 16th to 25th May 2024. This bespoke event, following the release of his summer anthem Baddy On The Floor featuring Honey Dijon, will see the celebrated artist perform alongside a diverse array of collaborators and friends. Each night promises a fresh lineup, curated by Jamie xx himself, though the details of these guest appearances will remain a closely guarded secret until the events unfold. The residency will be hosted at Venue MOT, a name synonymous with London’s cutting-edge club culture, which will be transformed to accommodate 300 guests each night, aiming to recreate Jamie’s vision of an intimate clubbing experience.

Jamie xx expressed his long-held dream of establishing a club that embodies his love and experience within the capital’s music scene. “For years I’ve been dreaming of opening my own club in London, a place that represents my experiences in the best of London’s underground club scene; the intimacy, the community, the curation, the sound… This month, I get to make that dream a reality. It’s called The Floor and will be at Venue MOT, London. I’ve teamed up with them to create a totally new space and I’ve invited loads of friends and collaborators to join me on the lineup every night. See you on the floor,” Jamie detailed with evident enthusiasm.

The Floor residency not only marks a significant moment for Jamie xx but also for his fans, who eagerly await the release of his much-anticipated second album. Having teased new music during his global performances, Jamie’s upcoming stint at Venue MOT offers a closer, more personal space to share his latest creations ahead of headlining major festivals such as Glastonbury, Pitchfork Music Festival, HARD Summer and III Points this summer.

Tickets for the ten-night residency are set to go on sale at 10am on Thursday 2nd May, available exclusively through www.jamiexx.com. The event spans over ten days, with varied timings to accommodate the week’s changing pace: 9pm to 2am from Sunday to Wednesday; extending an hour longer on Thursdays; and pushing the boundaries from 10pm to 5am on Fridays and Saturdays, ensuring that each night offers a unique experience reflective of Jamie xx’s vision and the dynamism of London’s nightlife.
