Eddie Murphy, Pete Davidson and Keke Palmer lead wild action-comedy The Pickup, landing on Prime Video this week

Prime Video brings together comedy royalty and rising stars in The Pickup, an action-packed heist caper arriving globally this Wednesday, 6th August.

Directed by Tim Story (Barbershop, Ride Along), the film stars Eddie Murphy and Pete Davidson as two mismatched armoured truck drivers who find themselves caught in the middle of a high-stakes robbery gone wildly off the rails. Murphy plays Russell, a seasoned but weary pro, while Davidson’s Travis is a younger, offbeat new hire — and the only thing they seem to have in common is bad timing.

When their routine cash pickup is hijacked by a ruthless crew led by Zoe (Keke Palmer), the duo is forced into a chaotic scramble for survival. But Zoe’s plans go far beyond the money, setting off a twist-filled chase that’s as explosive as it is absurd.

The film marks a return to broad comedy for Murphy, who teams up with a generation of younger talent, including Davidson, Palmer and Eva Longoria. The ensemble cast also features Ismael Cruz Córdova, Jack Kesy, Andrew Dice Clay, Marshawn Lynch and WWE superstar Roman Reigns (Joe Anoa’i), promising both comedic firepower and action spectacle.

With a lean 94-minute runtime, The Pickup blends high-octane set pieces, mismatched buddy comedy and a surprising amount of heart. Expect car chases, mistaken identities, wisecracks, and more than a few unexpected twists.
