The official trailer has dropped for Blue Moon, the latest film from acclaimed director Richard Linklater, arriving in UK cinemas on 14th November.

Set over the course of a single evening, Blue Moon transports audiences to 1940s New York, where legendary lyricist Lorenz Hart (played by Ethan Hawke) finds himself drinking alone at Sardi’s bar, riddled with regret and self-doubt. Just blocks away, his former songwriting partner Richard Rodgers is celebrating the triumphant Broadway premiere of Oklahoma! – the revolutionary musical they were once set to write together.

The film explores the disintegration of a storied creative partnership, capturing the ache of missed opportunities and the bittersweet weight of legacy. Alongside Hawke, the cast includes Margaret Qualley, Bobby Cannavale and Andrew Scott.

Blue Moon is written by Robert Kaplow and directed by Linklater (Boyhood, Before Sunrise), continuing his fascination with time, memory and human connection. The trailer offers a glimpse of the film’s rich atmosphere, underscored by jazz-inflected melancholy and a sharply observed character study.
