Talise Spa opens in Verona’s historic Palazzo Soave, blending wellness with cultural heritage
A new wellness facility, Talise Spa, has officially opened its doors in Verona’s historic city centre. Located within the 15th century Palazzo Soave, the spa is part of an ongoing redevelopment led by local entrepreneur Bruno Soave and architect Lucio Merlini. The opening marks the third phase of the palace’s transformation, following the establishment of the Michelin-starred Iris Restaurant and the Velvet Bar, as part of a wider project that aims to revitalise the historic complex and create a luxury hospitality destination, with a five-star hotel is also set to open by 2026.
Palazzo Soave, situated between Via Leoni and Stradone San Fermo near Ponte delle Navi, is a heritage site reflecting over six centuries of architectural history. The building features a neogothic façade, a frescoed monumental staircase, and an underground level containing Roman mosaics and archaeological remains. The spa occupies 400 square metres of the 3,300-square-metre complex, which will eventually house 30 suites accommodating up to 70 guests.
The spa’s treatment programme is overseen by manager Burcu Arslan Zuppini, a wellness professional with more than 25 years of experience, and there is a range of facilities, including a Finnish sauna, cryosauna, ice waterfall, sensory deprivation tanks and multi-sensory showers. Visitors can also view ancient artefacts uncovered during excavation work on the site.
Soave, the driving force behind the redevelopment, commented on the significance of the spa’s launch: “Our ambitious project to bring back to life a building that has shaped the history of this city is almost complete. The opening of Talise Spa is of great significance to us: it will be the wellness center that was missing in Verona’s historic centre. A safe haven for locals and tourists seeking a wellness retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the city..”
The restoration of Palazzo Soave represents an effort to blend cultural preservation with modern hospitality, creating a new destination for both residents and visitors in Verona.
