London bars unveil creative menus for the return of Negroni Week

Negroni Week will return to London from 19th to 28th September, with many of the city’s bars unveiling limited-edition cocktail menus in honour of the Italian aperitif. The annual event celebrates the classic cocktail, typically made with gin, vermouth and Campari, with participating venues around the world taking the opportunity to showcase creative versions, often in support charitable causes. For this year’s London events, the giving partner is Slow Food – a global movement of local communities and activists across more than 160 countries, who seek to change the world through food and drink that is “good for them, good for the people who produce it and good for the planet”. So far, the new drinks on offer look varied and exciting.

The Coral Room and The Bloomsbury Club Bar, both in Bloomsbury, have partnered with Portofino Dry Gin to offer a £30 flight of three miniature Negronis. Each location will present a different trio: at The Coral Room, the menu includes a traditional Negroni alongside two citrus-forward alternatives – the Lemon Negroni and the Orange Negroni; meanwhile, The Bloomsbury Club Bar’s selection draws inspiration from the Italian Riviera, with the Riviera Negroni (featuring coconut and lime), the Sottosole Negroni (topped with lemon foam) and a barrel-aged Negroni described as “rich” and “complex”.

Also joining the fun is K Bar at The Kensington hotel, who will offer a menu of four variations, each priced at £18. In addition to a classic version made with Hayman’s Old Tom Gin, the bar will serve the Bungaroni Negroni (with crème de banane and chocolate bitters), the Royal Tea Negroni (infused with Earl Grey cordial) and the Il Fico Negroni (featuring fig liqueur and crème de noyaux). According to the organisers, these combinations aim to “impress even Count Camillo Negroni himself”.

At The Marylebone’s cocktail bar, guests can sample three new takes on the drink: the Blackberry and Lemongrass Negroni (£18), the Coffee Negroni (£18) made with Kahlua and fresh espresso, and the Chilli Chocolate Negroni (£20), which incorporates ancho chilli pepper liqueur and real chocolate.

Nobu Hotel London Portman Square will host Negroni Nights from 22nd to 28th September at its Nobu Bar & Terrace. The menu features five distinctive serves that balance tradition and innovation. Highlights include the French Negroni (£19), a light Riviera-inspired mix of Gin D’Azur, Lillet Blanc and Noilly Prat, and the Negroni Royale (£21), which brings a celebratory sparkle with Campari, Cocchi di Torino and Laurent-Perrier Heritage. Bolder options come in the Cynar Negroni (£19), with Roku Gin, Cynar and Antica Formula enhanced by cracked black pepper, and Fuji’s Peak (£20), a Japanese-influenced combination of Sa-Ke Rock, Cocchi Americano, Choya and Peychaud’s Bitters. For those seeking a non-alcoholic alternative, the Sober Negroni (£15) offers a refined mix of Everleaf Mountain, Opius Rubedo and Artisan Lemonade.
