Sony Pictures Animation has released the first international trailer and poster for its upcoming animated feature GOAT, which arrives in UK and Irish cinemas this February.

Directed by Tyree Dillihay and co-directed by Adam Rosette, GOAT follows Will, a small goat with big dreams, who gets an unexpected chance to join the professional roarball league – a high-octane, full-contact sport dominated by the animal kingdom’s fiercest competitors. Dismissed by his new teammates and doubted by the league, Will sets out to prove that “smalls can ball”.

The voice cast includes Caleb McLaughlin, Gabrielle Union, Stephen Curry, Nicola Coughlan, Nick Kroll, David Harbour, Jenifer Lewis, Aaron Pierre, Patton Oswalt, Andrew Santino, Bobby Lee, Eduardo Franco, Sherry Cola, Jelly Roll and Jennifer Hudson.

The film is written by Aaron Buchsbaum and Teddy Riley, and is inspired by the book Funky Dunks by Chris Tougas. It is produced by Michelle Raimo Kouyate, Rodney Rothman, Adam Rosenberg, Stephen Curry and Erick Peyton. Executive producers include Rick Mischel and Fonda Snyder.

GOAT is the latest original feature from Sony Pictures Animation, the studio behind Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and aims to blend sports action with comedy in a vibrant, all-animal world.
