Less than a year after its debut, Doc returns with a 22-episode second season, charting Dr Amy Larsen’s (Molly Parker) attempt to rebuild both her identity and medical career following accident-induced amnesia. The longer run opens the door to wider story arcs, from her tentative relationship with fellow doctor Dr Jake Heller (Jon-Michael Ecker) to the shifting dynamic with mentor Dr Joan Ridley (Felicity Huffman), now head of internal medicine.

Ahead of the series’s premiere on Sky, Huffman and Ecker spoke to The Upcoming about the expanded scale of the new season and the potential it holds for their characters. Huffman shares she enjoyed playing a woman who is complex and flawed, while both actors hinted at where their stories might go in future chapters.
