Malcolm in the Middle revival set to premiere on Disney+ this April

The dysfunctional genius is back. Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair – a new four-episode limited series – will premiere on Disney+ in the UK on 10th April 2026.
First-look images and a teaser trailer were released today, offering a glimpse of the original cast reunited more than 15 years after the beloved sitcom left screens. Bryan Cranston, Frankie Muniz and Jane Kaczmarek return as Hal, Malcolm and Lois, alongside Christopher Kennedy Masterson (Francis), Justin Berfield (Reese) and Emy Coligado (Piama). They’re joined by new faces Keeley Karsten as Malcolm’s daughter Leah, Vaughan Murrae as his youngest sibling Kelly, Kiana Madeira as his girlfriend Tristan, and Caleb Ellsworth-Clark taking on the role of Dewey.
The new series picks up years after the original finale, with Malcolm having distanced himself from his chaotic upbringing to raise a family of his own. But when Hal and Lois summon him back for their 40th wedding anniversary, he’s forced to confront both his past and the family dynamics that shaped him.
Directed by Ken Kwapis (The Office), and written by original creator Linwood Boomer, Life’s Still Unfair is produced by 20th Television and New Regency, with Cranston also serving as executive producer.
All seven seasons of Malcolm in the Middle are currently available to stream on Disney+. The new series lands just as the original finds a new generation of fans, blending nostalgia with a fresh perspective on growing up – and staying grown-up – in a family like no other.
